Nursery Design Board

Like I mentioned before, I'm going to use alot of furniture pieces I already have, and luckily with the color scheme, it will work grandly either way, boy or girl. Here's a board I put together to give you and idea of what I'm thinking.

I haven't decided on a rug yet, maybe a sheep skin?

Baby #03 and Nursery Ideas

So, the surprise is out...we are having another baby! This was not something we had planned, one of God's funny little ideas ;) And though we are still a bit stunned, we are getting very excited about having a little one around the house again. When this baby is born, my other two will have just turned 12 and 10, talk about starting over!

One of the first things I began to stress over was where we would put a nursery. When we moved to our land a year and a had ago, we downsized from 5 bedrooms to 3, so our only option is a small, odd shaped office space that my son and husband have actually utilized as their "game room" for playing video games, which does not have a closet. By the time this little one is old enough for to need  full size room, one my older two will be off to college, freeing up a room, crazy right?

I'm working up a nursery design board, utilizing pieces I already have, with the exception of a crib, that I will get finished up and posted later this week.

In the meanwhile, here are some ingenious ideas I found online, for making the most out of the little room I've got to work with.

Love this open closet concept

Industrial Storage baskets are a definite, I'll be scouting Homegoods for some similar to these

This was a definite winner, and a project I already have underway in my garage with an old china lets be real, we used it as a liquor cabinet. I love the open armoir look, with useful shelving below.

Both of the ideas are great for storing all those little miscellaneous things that babies need.

Getting Stitchy with it

Guess what the hubs let me go get, an embroidery machine, woo hoo, I'm so excited!! I've wanted one for a bit, but they are so expensive! Then I saw a facebook friend was doing some really awesome stuff, and she has the Brother SE-400, which is only $369 at Walmart. So I went over and scooped one up yesterday, it was our 13 year anniversary since we started dating, awww ♥ And got busy last night making some burp clothes and embroidering an outfit I got for a friend who's Little girl is due any day now.

It was so easy and user friendly! I'm already racking my brain thinking of what to do next, but I'm taking baby steps, so I don't ruin anything, like this unfortunate burp rag, oh well, trial and error :)

Tuesdays Three Things to Love

Joy Folie shoes....can you say A-MAZ-ING!!!!
love, love, love these, so unique, I want in my size!

Essie in "Sugar Daddy"
I just picked this up at Walgreen's about two weeks ago, and it is now a staple, such a perfect sheer for everyday wear

Waxing Poetic's Brass Ball Bracelet
I have the sterling silver, and love the little clasps they've made to add or remove as many charms as you'd like, it's like an edgier take on a pearl bracelet

Something Clearly New

This Vetro Crib by Nurseryworks, featured today on Gilt, was too unique not to share. Though completely new and out of the box, I would think that only a first time mom would be daring enough to venture into purchasing a clear acrylic crib, as a second time around mom would undoubtedly know the daily chore of cleaning off little finger prints, slobbers and other fun things, that would likely ensue with such a crib. But none the less, it is a fun idea!

And this baby hammock  was pretty neat too, this I could definitely see purchasing if we ever add baby #3, however, it would be a fight to keep my other two kids out of ;)

Restoration Hardware Baby & Kids

I just realized that Restoration Hardware had a kids and baby collection, and I AM IN LOVE!! Their collections are soft and muted colors, and just as unique as their regular collection. The kids rooms are both pretty recently decorated, but I found some great items I want for their playroom.

Small World Ottoman, love the neutral colors

industrial basket & "toys" liner, such a great idea instead of a traditional toy box

this Weathered Wall Bookrack will be great for the piles of books in their playroom closet

Don't think we'll get this, but how adorable is this mini Kennsington sofa!

I think I'll put these Sports display rack in Grier's room for his giant collection of soccer balls, such a fun design idea and also practical for storing them.

Baylor would love this in her room

We have often talked about having another baby, but always debate on cost and having a third tuition monthly for private school. I think with this new discovery, we'll have to put it off even a bit longer, because I definitely would want one of these nursery collections.

Stunning!
I'm tempted to buy the rocking horse even if we don't have another baby ♥♥♥
