Portabello Delicious-ness!

I wanted to share this super easy, absolutely delicious recipe I threw together after having something similar at Mellow Mushroom a few weeks back.

What you need:
- Large Potabello Mushroom Caps
- Artichoke Hearts
- Blue Cheese (or some other cheese you may enjoy)
- Balsamic Vinegar Glaze

Preheat the oven to 350. Wash and dry the mushrooms caps. Layer the artichoke hearts followed by the blue cheese crumbles into the mushroom caps, and then drizzle Balsamic Vinegar Glaze on top. Cover in Foil and heat in oven for about 8 minutes, then turn oven to broil and leave in about 4-5 minutes, to really make the cheese nice a melted.

Enjoy - so delish!!

Christmas Break DIY List

Today is the first day of my two week vacation (insert yippees, huge grin, and cartwheels). It has been a long time since I've had a straight two weeks, and I am super excited. I've been pinning all sorts of fun things I want to try and make on my Pinterest boards, and here's a few things I'm going to try and accomplish over my vaca.

Linen Wreath from Beautiful Nest
Painted Wine Bottles for the Mantle Pinterest
Hand Print Canvases for the Playroom from Chic Cheap Nursery
Kids Fabric Bookshelves for the Playroom like these at Penny Carnival
Monogrammed Ornaments for the Tree from The Creativity Exchange
Christmas Cranberry Mojitos from We're not Martha

I think I'll start on the Cranberry Mojitos first, that way I'll have something yummy throughout the duration of the rest, lol ;)

Wish me luck!

Gobble till you wobble!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with Brett Parents and my mom and Grandma. The menu was both traditional and quirky, I made a Turkey (delish!), Ham, Potatoes, steamed Asparagus (Yummm!!!), Rolls, Banana pudding, pumpkin pie, and Brett's mom brought her fabulous dressing and a sweet potato dish, and his dad a crawfish corn chowder, and my mom brought a Pumpkin cheesecake. We got to use our dining room, and everything was just perfect ♥

Santa, I've been good....

I have quite a large extended family, and every year, around November, the calls start, what would you like for Christmas. Now with my kids I figured out several years ago to start making a list, and I would tell each relative one thing off of it, and then cross it off the list. Last year I started the same for Brett and I, as we were in the process of building our new home, and there were lots of new fabulous things I had my eyes on. Here's just a few things I'm hoping Santa brings me this year ;)

Love this, DUST FREE = ♥, maybe monogrammed too

You can never go wrong with Uggs, so comfy!

Painted Labrador PB Pillow Cover with "Sampson"

Another Samson gift, but still I want :)
This is more of a hubby gift, but how much fun is this for summer barbecues?

tasty bits from 4th of july

I love to cook when I can......not everything always turns out great, but I enjoy the experience of being in the kitchen and trying new things. My husband has quite a sweet tooth, so many times when I get the chance to try new things, its end up a dessert, per his request. Nothing fancy this time just William Sonoma Vanilla Sugar Cookies recipe I tried, with this lemon royal icing. The lemon extract in the icing really made them a tasty summer treat. The kiddos helped me decorate with edible pearls, also from William Sonoma, and once we had them all arranged, they doubled as a festive counter top decoration too.
Yummy, these did not last long....

Matching shirts, cheesy, I know, but I still love :)
