Looking Back: Gatlinburg

Okay, so this trip wasn't exotic, but there is nothing like the beautiful leaves in the fall in Tennessee. I spent many summers at camp in Monterrey, TN, and have nothing but fond memories of the beautiful outdoors this state offers :)

Looking Back: Paris

Another place I loved getting to visit....the city of Love, PARIS. Though only a brief visit, I really enjoyed Paris, again such exquisite architecture and beautiful surroundings! The food, the museums, the shopping, all wonderful!

Looking Back: London

I thought this week I'd do a few post of past vacations, and some of the beautiful pictures I've captured. Today is London. I never realized how much I would enjoy London and all of the history contained there. By far, my favorite destination thus far ♥

The gardens there were so exquisite. This was in front of Buckingham Palace, on our way to seethe changing of the guard - a must see if you ever visit London

I love that the crosswalks have directions, lol

My mom, before we visited the White Tower

Such Stunning Architecture! Westminster Abbey

Such a gorgeous window!

Big Ben, of course :)

Ring, ring...hubby, can you hold down the house and kids for another week, so I can stay longer in London, puh-lease!!! lol :)

Home Tour: Man Room / Bar ??

We wanted to make sure that we had plenty of room to grow as a family when we built this house, but, I must admit, there are some spaces we aren't quite sure what to do with.....Introduction to the man room / bar / not quite sure?? We have a great leather couch we didn't really want to get rid of when we got our new Pottery Barn sectional, so we put it up here for the meanwhile, and decided we would put all our dark heavy funiture up in this room, and maybe it would be a good place to watch football and kick back.
Still love my white antlers ♥

This is one of my favorite pieces of furniture, a bar from reclaimed wood

I picked this oil painting up from an artist painting by the river next to the Eiffell tower, two years ago when my mom and I went to Paris, I absolutley love the colors! I Finally took and had it matted and framed last month, and couldn't wait to hang it up ♥

My husband\'s favorite, this bench is also reclaimed metal and wood, and weighs about a million pounds :)

A solid wood shield my mom brought back for Brett from Africa

Love, love, love this cow hide rug, such pretty colors!

A Little Bit of Bling

I have seen this chandelier mobile in lots of different area, I pinned it here, and had started to make the chandelier stings, but wasn't sure how/what to hang it on, until I saw it on this blog two weeks ago. I wanted to hang it just below the light Baylor has in her room, to throw off pretty sparkles around the room, she had seen it and loved it,so here's what we did for ours.

I spray painted a green wreath mold in left over satin nickel, remember I mentioned it here?

We strung swaroski crystal glass beads on flexi-clear wire. I would make a knot and then pull the crystal on top to hide it. We used a large, medium and small,in all sorts of varying patterns and lengths.

I thought I wanted to due linen, like here, but couldn't find the right shade of white in it,so I used some bargain bin rayon, that naturally frayed on the end, giving it kind of a shabby look I lived. I just used a needle and thread to make a ruffle and attached to the outer ring and inner ring.

It turned out really pretty, and, the most important part, Baylor loves it :)
